Team USA won game one, 4-3, in a shootout, game two, 2-1, and game three, 4-2, Canada won game four, 2-3. A late third-period goal by Canada's Sarah Nurse proved to be the difference maker as Canada took game five of the Rivalry Series, 3-2. Amanda Kessel opened the scoring late in the first off a tight 2-on-1 opportunity to open a 1-0 lead.
